چکیده
Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a recognized complication of severe illness. However, this phenomenon has been reported most often the setting acute infection. Here we present case patient with history respiratory syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection that subsequently developed HLH weeks after treatment COVID-19 and discharges from hospital. Upon re-admission, work-up demonstrated was experiencing Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) reactivation. As EBV known etiological trigger HLH, provides an alternative mechanism for seen patients who resolution symptomatology.

Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is a ubiquitous virus that infects nearly all people worldwide without serious sequela. However, for patients who have genetic diseases which predispose them to the development of hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH), EBV infection is a life-threatening problem. As a part of a themed collection of articles on EBV infection and human primary immune deficiencies, we w...
